In case you haven't heard, there is a new repeater system that is serving this area. You can find it on 146.61(-) / 444.45 (+), both utilizing a 110.9 Hz CTCSS tone for access. The VHF and UHF systems are linked together. The transmitter for the repeater is located at Cobbs Hill, and there are a total of ten voting receivers (5 VHF + 5 UHF) located throughout Monroe County. For security reasons, generalized locations of voting receivers can be shared, however, the exact locations of these receivers will not be divulged. A map is shown below that shows generalized locations of these receivers. The repeater system is funded and equipped by employees of the Monroe County Radio Center, the folks who maintain the equipment and antennas for public safety communications. The repeater's trustee is Tony DiLettera, N2MPE. He can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Early reports show excellent coverage throughout the County. Try it yourself and see how it works! Jeff Wigal, WY7Q
